Within walking distance of the beautiful sandy beaches in Llansteffan, this comfortable Grade II listed terraced holiday cottage is situated in the centre of Llansteffan’s quaint village. 100 yards from the local shop/cafe and 2 village pubs.
The well equipped cottage provides a warm welcome all year round with a log fire in the spacious living room and a small lawned garden with patio and garden furniture. It is an ideal property for families with children (box of toys provided. Cartref will sleep 6.



On the ground floor is a large living room, dining room with wooden floors, a well equipped kitchen with breakfast bar and a family bathroom with toilet, bath, power shower (over bath) and airing cupboard. A narrow staircase leads from the kitchen up to a TV room with double futon (the ‘snug’) – ideal as a den for kids / teenagers. Alternative sleeping is available in this room by prior arrangement.

Pricing
Rental period is Friday 4pm to Friday 10am: There may sometimes be flexibility with regards to changeover days and short breaks – please enquire. Weekly prices range from £350 – £650 depending on the season – please enquire.
All prices are inclusive of towels (please bring your own beach towels), bed linen, heating and electricity, one small basket of logs and welcome tea / coffee and Welsh Cakes.
Deposit of 20% of rental price, with balance to be paid eight weeks before your stay. Payment by cheque or bank transfer in GBP.

Pentowyn Holiday Cottages

Pentowyn is situated on the Taf estuary with wonderful views directly across to the historic castle at Laurgharne and Dylan Thomas’s boathouse. There are strong connections with Dylan Thomas as he spent time at Pentowyn as a child where his aunt and uncle were farming. In later life when he lived at the Boathouse in Laurgharne, he would sit in his writing shed and look across at Pentowyn where memories of his childhood may have influenced his writing.

Views up the estuary towards the Preseli Mountains and down the estuary towards Pendine, and Caldey Island. Pentowyn is in a wonderful rural setting, yet with the ever changing estuary views directly in front.

The two cottages are converted farm buildings and are situated with the farmhouse of Pentowyn (owner’s home). Pentowyn’s origins date back to the 12th century as a priory farm, and is set in 5 acres with surrounding land being farmed and grazed with sheep and cattle. There is a lane leading down to the salt marsh where there is an abundance of wild life. The ‘Wales Coastal Walk’ passes behind the farm and there are plentiful walks directly from the doorstep. The sandy beach of Llansteffan is a 5 minute drive away.

Gwalia

Gwalia is one of two converted stone barns completely renovated to a very high standard. The cottage sleeps 6 in three bedrooms (+ cot) and is light and airy with one king size bedroom with coastal and estuary views.  There are two twin rooms, one upstairs with a portable TV and DVD player, and the other on the ground floor.

The bathroom is on the 1st floor with shower over the bath. Downstairs has a useful utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer and ample storage for boots, coats etc. There is a separate downstairs toilet. The ground floor entrance leads to an open plan lounge/dining/ kitchen area with oak flooring and oak furniture. There are two comfortable sofas positioned around a log burner. A basket of logs is provided (additional baskets£10). There is a 42 inch LCD (with free view), DVD player and CD /tuner/tape player with separate speakers.

The oak dining table comfortably sits 6 (high chair available). The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave and fridge freezer. A sliding patio door leads on to a paved area with wooden garden furniture. All bed linen and towels provided. Outside: large grassed area is suitable for ball play, washing line, BBQ available. One well behaved dog welcome.

 

Hafan

Hafan is the smaller of the two converted stone barns and sleeps 2 (+cot). The entrance leads into small tiled conservatory area with wooden table and chairs. A washing machine and tumble dryer are positioned in the corner. Two glazed doors lead into a large open plan lounge/dining/kitchen area with high ceiling.

The lounge floor is wood effect with one step leading into the dining and kitchen bar area. The lounge is furnished with one large sofa, comfy armchair and pine furniture. There is an LCD TV (with free view), DVD player and a portable CD/ radio/tape player. The kitchen is fully equipped with electric oven/hob, microwave, dishwasher and large fridge freezer.

A door leads to the bathroom which has a shower over the bath and a white tiled floor. A separate door leads to the carpeted bedroom with double bed and ample cupboard and wardrobe space. The cottage has oil central heating and all fuel is included in the price. All bed linen and towels are provided. Outside there is a bench and washing line and BBQ (stored). 2 well behaved dogs welcome.

Eureka Cottage is a contemporary beach cottage, only 30 metres from the beach at Ferry Point, with spectacular views from the cottage windows over to Llansteffan Castle, the Gower Peninsula and Ferryside.

The cottage is situated on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Llansteffan at the mouth of of the River Towy, overlooked by an impressive 13th Century castle. The village has 2 pubs, an excellent restaurant, village store and post office. There is also a beachfront café and a fish and chip vendor. The village is situated on the Pilgrims Way with excellent coastal and country walks.

Available locally are sea fishing, sailing, bird watching, and tennis. Golf and pony trekking can be found within 7 miles, whilst the market town of Carmarthen is just 9 miles away, with a good selection of shops, restaurants, pubs and a leisure centre. There are also other family activities in the area – the National Botanical Garden of Wales, the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, a Steam Railway and Oakwood Theme Park.

Accommodation

Eureka sleeps 5 in 3 bedrooms: a double, a twin and a single. Upstairs is the main double bedroom with balcony and a full bathroom with walk-in shower.

Downstairs is an open-plan sitting room, kitchen and dining area, together with a twin bedroom, a single bedroom and a shower room.

The kitchen is well equipped, with table and chairs, a ceramic hob and electric oven, microwave, washing machine, electric kettle and toaster.

The comfortable sitting area has a three-seater sofa, a two-seater sofa and an easy chair as well as satellite TV and DVD.

Outside

Outside there is a veranda, decking area and lawns, with plenty of parking space for at least 2 cars. And the beach!

There are spectacular views from these Award winning eco-friendly cottages based at Llangain, centrally 5 miles from Llansteffan and Carmarthen. The cottages are set in a peaceful rural location in 5 acres of beautiful wildlife-friendly gardens overlooking SSSi River Tywi tidal estuary marshes with panoramic views towards  Llansteffan Castle.

Both semi-detached single storey cottages are reached by a long private driveway, 1.5 miles south of Llangain.  The cottages are entered by a glass porch, enabling the views and surrounding area to be enjoyed in any weather. The living/kitchen area includes all necessary facilities, eg TV, DVD.  A warm comfortable double bed will already be made up and waiting for you, together with all linen and towels in the en-suite shower.  Shared washing machine and freezer facility.  Sorry no pets.

There is a private outside seating area with barbecue, patio heater and garden furniture. The wild life friendly garden also has walks and ponds with various seating areas to enjoy the encompassing magnificent views.

 Llansteffan is a sleepy village at the mouth of the River Towy about 5 miles south of Llangain, a small but lovely spot nestled between the sandy shores of the Tywi estuary and the lush green hill of the Welsh countryside, in some respects, it is an unexpected oasis of peace. Friendly and welcoming, the village has been referred to as one of Wales’ best kept secrets. In recent years the area has become somewhat of a Mecca for the birdwatching community with many rare birds making their home in the estuary or overwintering in the area.

The cottages themselves are within a mile of the Wales Coastal Path which can be walked either to Llansteffan or Carmarthen. The beautiful beaches at Llansteffan are perfect for lazy family days, abundant fishing opportunities for salmon bass and flatfish, or for the more adventurous some kayaking or dinghy sailing at the nearby Tywi Boat Club who charge very reasonable rates for temporary family membership enabling the full use of all facilities.

The park is situated two miles by car from Llansteffan and six miles from the county town of Carmarthen. Fully equipped for a quiet rural retreat, visitors can enjoy peace and tranquility with beautiful rural views across the Welsh countryside.

The cosy lounge provides the perfect resting place after exploring the village, spending the day on the beach or spending the day visiting one of the many local attractions. It is comfortably furnished with 3 piece suite, colour Tv (with Freeview), a DVD player, and piano. A good selection of books and games are available should the need arise.

 

The galley kitchen is comprehensively equipped with all modern appliances with the annex next door housing a washing machine and freezer. A high chair is available on request. Fresh towels are provided in the bathroom but we do ask that you bring your own beach towels. The cottage can comfortably sleep 5 people in the 3 bedrooms and a cot is also available on request.

Just 10 minutes from the beach at Llansteffan on Carmarthen Bay and peacefully set amidst 6 acres with landscaped gardens, this welcoming easy access cottage offers space and tranquillity.


Bwthyn Creigiau is a converted barn and piggery dating back to 1780 when it was part of a traditional working farm. Original features such as vaulted ceilings, oak beams and exposed stone have been retained with added modern comforts such as underfloor heating and triple glazing. The cottage is welcoming, light and airy with a contemporary design and has several large French windows overlooking the gardens.

Our main aim is to offer access for all and this extends to the grounds, filled with over 2500 herbaceous plants. Follow the paths as they wend round raised flower beds, the sensory garden, orchard and wild flower meadow carefully designed for the enjoyment of all our guests – as well as the wildlife they attract.

Just a 5 minute drive from Bwthyn Creigiau, the All Wales Coast Path passes through Green Castle Woods, ancient woodlands carpeted with bluebells in spring. 10 minutes away, the unspoilt village of Llansteffan on the Towy estuary has a castle, stunning coastal and estuary walks and views, beautiful unspoilt beaches, wildlife – it’s a real paradise for those seeking peace and tranquillity.

The historic county town of Carmarthen (15 minutes), offers an array of amenities including a good selection of shops, cafes and restaurants using local produce. A traditional indoor market, cinema, bowling alley, museum, leisure centre including swimming pool and shops and galleries selling local arts and crafts.

The cottage is within an hour of the Gower peninsula to the east and an hour to the vast beaches and beauty spots of Pembrokeshire to the West.

From the Castle, visitors can amble back down to the village, which is well served with places to eat. Within 100 yards of the cottage you will find Florries for fish and chips and The Beach Shop serving snacks and beverages. Two miles away the Mansion House Hotel and Restaurant is well worth a visit.

Immediately behind the cottage there are playing fields, 2 tennis courts and a multi-use games court. There is parking for one car outside the cottage and free parking for any other car on the car park opposite the complex.

The dining room leads into a brand new fitted kitchen, which is fully equipped, and contains quality appliances including a full size electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, kettle, toaster, and smoothie maker.

The hall under stair storage area houses a tumble dryer, ironing board and iron, vacuum cleaner, tower cooling fan, portable outdoor chairs and beach mats, and coat hooks.

The upstairs hall contains a large airing cupboard and immersion heater, with a window looking out onto the back garden from which you may be lucky enough to see the starling murmurations at dusk. There are also 3 double bedrooms all with brand new furniture, which comfortably sleep 6 people. The main bedroom has a double bed along with another Panasonic Smart TV with Freeview and built in Wi-Fi.

On the quiet road at the front there is ample parking space for 2 cars. There is also a front lawn edged by a low hedge and secured with a gate. The garden path leads to the front door and to the side of the house.

Innisfree House is the largest property at Innisfree Complex, situated right on the beachfront in Llansteffan. There is a shared, heated outdoor swimming pool (open from Whitsun to first week of September) and beautiful gardens. This is a very spacious house, set on the first and second floors, with ever-changing sea views from the living room and all the bedrooms. It sleeps 6 / 7 in 3 bedrooms and there is also a cot and highchair available on request.

A 32’ foot balcony runs off the living room where you can sit or lounge, overlooking the beach with views of Llansteffan castle and across the Twyi Estuary to Ferryside and beyond. The coastal path is a few metres away with beautiful walks. This is Dylan Thomas country, and Laugharne is close by.

The house is particularly well set up for large families. There is a games room / study off the living room with Smart TV, blu-ray, Wii playstation, two laptop tables and a small sofa with plenty of children’s toys and a selection of books and DVDs. The spacious living area also boasts a Smart TV and blu-ray. Wifi is superfast broadband, free of charge. There is also a bluetooth wireless speaker for streaming music. The house is double-glazed and gas centrally heated with a very large water tank to supply the two showers.13 Kitchen 1

The fully equipped kitchen (dishwasher, microwave, freezer, fanned oven and ceramic hob) and dining room (presently both large rooms) are about to be made into one large, new, luxury kitchen / sitting / dining room with enhanced sea views. There is a separate utility room with washing machine and sink for hand-washing. Tumble dryer is available in the laundry room, as well as outdoor washing line.20 Main Bedroom 1
The master bedroom has a large king-size bed plus a 3’ single bed under the eaves and an ensuite wetroom.

The third bedroom also has two 3’ single beds which can be made up as a super-king-size 6’ bed on request. All have ample clothes storage and hairdryers. There is a large family bathroom, just refurbished, with a walk-in shower and separate bath. Two extra WCs are available on the first floor and also on the ground floor as you enter (handy for the swimming pool!). There is off-street parking for one car plus extra car parking available in the beach car park opposite (free of charge). There is a lovely tea-shop a few doors down and an excellent take-out fish and chip kiosk open seasonally. The very handy village shop / post office also serves breakfast and lunch, plus dinner on Fridays and Saturdays and offers a cash service. Other great places to eat will also be found in the village.
Apologies but we don’t accept pets or smokers.
Please note that there is no lifeguard on duty by the pool and also the pool is not gated so close supervision of toddlers by parents would be necessary.

PROPERTY DESCRIPTION

Cryddion is a charming stone built cottage full of character and history for 2 persons, located in the picturesque coastal village of Llansteffan with a less than 5 minute walk to beach and village centre with its local store and 2 pubs. The cottage has a varied history and was the local Cobblers (Cryddion in Welsh) for many years and also a wool shop. It has been fully refurbished in 2017/18 to retain its original features but also incorporates modern comforts. It has a small pebble garden to the front with a sitting area, the stream runs to the side and below, which makes for a very pleasant and peaceful area to enjoy a glass of your favourite tipple.

This unspoilt village on the Towy estuary has a castle, stunning coastal and estuary walks and views, beautiful unspoilt beaches, wildlife – it’s a real paradise for those seeking peace and tranquillity. Ancient woodlands at Green Castle Woods is carpeted with bluebells and wild garlic in spring and is definitely a treat.

The historic county town of Carmarthen offers an array of amenities including a good selection of shops, cafes and restaurants using local produce. A traditional indoor market, cinema, bowling alley, museum, leisure centre including swimming pool and shops and galleries selling local arts and crafts.

The cottage is within an hour of the Gower peninsula and Brecon Beacons National Park to the east and an hour to the vast beaches and beauty spots of Pembrokeshire to the West.

The Cottage comprises:

Lounge/living area with table and chairs, 2 seater sofa settee with side table, table with TV. The area is heated via radiators and wood burner.

Lounge-Kitchen

Kitchen area with granite work surface sink and drainer, twin hob, combination microwave for oven and grilling, incorporated fridge, toaster and kettle, all required utensils.

Bedroom

Bedroom has a King size bed, with side tables and lamps, wardrobe, chest of drawers with mirror above, room is heated via a radiator.

Bathroom

Bathroom has a 900mm quadrant shower, tiled floor, toilet with mirrored cupboard above, basin with cupboard below and mirror above with strip light. Room is heated via underfloor heating and heated towel rail.

Other information:

Bed Linen and towels are included (NOT for beach use please)

The outside bench has a lockable storage area which contains cushions for the bench, a small table (for the wine !) and 2 collapsing chairs and parasol.

Guests should note whilst the living area is on one level there are 2 steps to the entrance and the inside has limited accessibility for wheelchair use.

Fibre WiFi is available for guest use.

Travel to Llansteffan is straight forward, via coach or train to Carmarthen and then bus to Llansteffan, bus stop is less than 1 minute walk from the cottage.

1 Parking space is available in the Chapel car park opposite.

No pets and no smoking please.

There is a £100 refundable damages deposit payable with final balance and a 25% deposit when booking.
